New Beginnings for Women:
Creating Your Career & Life After Divorce or Separation

 

sunriseDesigned for women wanting to explore and plan their career and life options during or following a relationship separation or divorce, this workshop will offer an opportunity to explore what might be possible as you negotiate a transition to a new beginning.

In a small, safe and supportive group we will engage in a variety of assessment and reflection activities that will guide you to:

  • Create a vision of what is possible for you in for this next chapter of your life and career, and develop a roadmap to get you there.
  • Identify your transferable and preferred skills – information that can help you create a Unique Value Proposition to focus your career exploration and planning.
  • Understand how your interests, through the Strong Interest Inventory, can direct you towards work and life options where you are most likely to thrive.
  • Discover the tools and information you need to establish career and life goals and an action plan.
  • Develop strategies for staying on track and overcoming the barriers of negative self-talk.

You will leave inspired and motivated to move forward with your vision and implementation of your roadmap and action plan.

Dates: Two options are available:

Saturday, September 21, 2013 … 10am-4:30pm
at Bay Area Career Center, 57 Post St., San Francisco
or
Wednesday, September 25, 2013 … 10am-4:30pm
at Life + Work, 57 Post St., San Francisco

Cost:

Early Bird Price: $197 if you register by September 12.
Price After September 12: $225.
Includes all assessments, reports and resource materials.

Group size is kept small and groups fill up quickly. Pre-registration required.

Once you are registered, we will set you up to take the Strong Interest Indicator online, prior to the workshop. Following the workshop, you will receive a personalized tutorial utilizing the results of your assessment, that will describe how to maximize use of the extensive O*Net database in your career planning, including exploring information on careers, accessing current labor market trends, salary information, and career exploration resources.

Opportunities for ongoing support will also be available.

 

About the Facilitators:

Susan Jewes Allen BACC Photo April 2012Susan Jewkes Allen, MSW, GCDF is a registered Global Career Development Facilitator with an MSW in clinical practice, post-graduate credentials in transpersonal psychology, personality studies and creativity coaching. She has been in private practice for more than 20 years and is a founder of Life + Work, LLC and an associate of the Bay Area Career Center. She has experience in both the public and private sectors working in Europe, Africa, the US and Canada for such diverse organizations as the World Health Organization, the United Nations, IADB and the World Bank. She is a frequent contributor to the media on career exploration and development and has appeared in the New York Times and CBC.
